Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Rate range and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, has mentioned the federal government will bewitch away gasoline subsidies by 2022.
In accordance to her, gasoline subsidies will be changed with N5000-a-month transport grant to the poorest Nigerians.
Ahmed said this on Tuesday, whereas speaking at the launch of the World Monetary institution Nigeria Building Update (NDU).
The minister renowned the grant will jog to about 30 to 40 million Nigerians, who make up the poorest population of the country.
“The subsidies regime within the [oil] sector stays unsustainable and economically disingenuous.
