TEHRAN: Iran has resumed industrial flights to Afghanistan, a month after the Taliban swept into Kabul closing month and ousted the authorities.
“This day Mahan Air carried passengers between Mashhad and Kabul airport,” Fars News Company reported, referring to Iran’s 2d-biggest city, in the northeast, and the Afghan capital.
“Currently, this airliner is returning to Mashhad with passengers.”
It used to be the first such flight between the two nations for the explanation that return of the Taliban to strength on August 15.
The Iranian civil aviation agency had equipped the interruption of flights to Kabul on August 16 for security reasons.
Beforehand, Mahan Air had operated two flights per week between Mashhad and Kabul.
Mahan Air, the 2d biggest Iranian airline after the enlighten-owned Iran Air, has been on the blacklist of entities targeted by US sanctions in opposition to Iran since 2011.
