The Ministry of Labour and Employment has rejected the 21-day ultimatum given to the Federal Authorities by the Nigeria Medical Affiliation announcing it’s in train collision with the Memorandum of Determining signed on August 21.
The NMA had threatened to affix the continued strike by the Nigerian Affiliation of Resident Doctors if the government did no longer gain to the underside of the total points contained within the many agreements signed with its affiliate unions.
But reacting on Sunday evening, to the likelihood in an announcement titled, ‘Labour Ministry to NMA: Your 21-Day Ultimatum in Collision With Our MoU,’ the government argued that the NMA’s role modified into once at variance with the timeline acknowledged within the Memorandum of Agreement.

Constant with the doctors, if the Federal Authorities fails to implement the agreements after the expiration of the 21- day behold, the NMA will summon an emergency delegate meeting.
NMA’s ultimatum is the most recent within the lingering tussle between the Nigerian govt and NARD which has long past on strike since July 31.
Despite a series of meetings between the Federal Authorities and the inserting doctors, no resolution has been reached.
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, had within the wake of the disagreements threatened to invoke the “no-work, no pay” rule on NARD.
However the NMA has thrown its weight within the support of the inserting doctors and diversified clinical examiners.
“The Nigerian Medical Affiliation totally supports all her affiliates in their efforts to enhance the healthcare offer in Nigeria and the welfare of her contributors,” it assured.
